{"id":579,"date":"2016-08-24T10:01:53","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T14:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.library.american.edu\/archives\/?p=579"},"modified":"2016-08-24T10:01:53","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T14:01:53","slug":"currently-on-display-the-peace-corps-through-the-lens-of-its-volunteers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.library.american.edu\/archives\/currently-on-display-the-peace-corps-through-the-lens-of-its-volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"Currently on Display: The Peace Corps through the Lens of its Volunteers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<strong><\/strong>In conjunction with the annual conference of the National Peace Corps Association that will be held in September 2016 in Washington, DC, AU Archives and Special Collections is highlighting its Peace Corps Community Archive with the launch of two new exhibits one in Bender Library and the other online. <em>The Peace Corps through the Lens of its Volunteers<\/em> will be on display through the end of the semester on the third floor of the Library. <a href=\"http:\/\/pccaomeka.wrlc.org\/exhibits\/show\/pccaonlineexhibit\"><em>The Peace Corps and Its Volunteers<\/em><\/a>, the online companion exhibit, will go live this Friday August 26.\u00a0 Both exhibits are drawn from the collections of the Peace Corps Community Archive.\u00a0 They feature journals, letters and photographs that showcase the experiences of Peace Corps volunteers from the 1960s to the present.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bender-lib.american.edu\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/08\/PCCA_Randall_0006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-580\" src=\"http:\/\/bender-lib.american.edu\/archives\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/08\/PCCA_Randall_0006-232x300.jpg\" alt=\"PCCA_Randall_0006\" width=\"232\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In conjunction with the annual conference of the National Peace Corps Association that will be held in September 2016 in Washington, DC, AU Archives and Special Collections is highlighting its Peace Corps Community Archive with the launch of two new exhibits one in Bender Library and the other online.
