Make the Most of Testing in the Online Environment

Address common testing problems and learn how to test students effectively within an online course in this workshop. You will review guidelines for effective online test design, learn how to create and deploy a test in Blackboard, and evaluate supplementary tools for online testing, such as the Respondus LockDown Browser. You will create your own sample test and view that test from the students’ point of view. Please bring a laptop to this workshop.

Simplify the Grading Process with Rubrics

In the second workshop of the series, learn how to design a clearly-defined rubric and use it to grade in the Blackboard Grade Center. In this workshop, you will learn about the benefits of using rubrics, the importance of rubric design, and how rubrics can inform student performance. You will input a rubric into Blackboard and practice using it to make your grading process faster and more consistent. Please bring a laptop to this workshop.

Use Blackboard Tools to Monitor At-Risk Students

Learn how to identify at-risk students with the new Attendance and Retention tools in Blackboard. The last workshop in this series focuses on how you can combine these tools with other strategies and resources to prevent your students from falling through the cracks. You will learn how to use Blackboard tools to identify, monitor, and reach out to at-risk students, and create an action plan on what to do to get them the resources they need. Please bring a laptop to this workshop.
