Debra Kaufman over at <a href=\"http:\/\/magazine.creativecow.net\/article\/film-fading-to-black\"><span style=\"color:blue\">Creative COW writes<\/span><\/a>,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:100%\"><span style=\"font-family:georgia\">  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:georgia\"><span style=\"font-size:85%\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;font-size:12pt\">&#8220;The demand for film cameras on a global basis has all but disappeared,&#8221; says ARRI VP of Cameras, Bill Russell, who notes that the company has only built film cameras on demand since 2009. &#8220;There are still some markets&#8211;not in the U.S.&#8211;where film cameras are still sold, but those numbers are far fewer than they used to be. If you talk to the people in camera rentals, the amount of film camera utilization in the overall schedule is probably between 30 to 40 percent.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:100%\"><span style=\"font-family:georgia\">  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:georgia\"><span style=\"font-size:100%\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;font-size:12pt\">Panavision\u2019s Executive VP Phil Radin states that, \u201cFilm will be around as long as Kodak and Fuji believe they can make money at it.\u201d With their revenues from the movie industry drying up, Kodak and Fuji are going to have a harder time keeping their film businesses profitable.
