What do Matt Damon, Pink, Josh Brolin<\/span><\/span><\/span>, Kerry Washington<\/span><\/span><\/span>, John Legend<\/span><\/span><\/span>, Marisa Tomei<\/span><\/span><\/span>, and Bruce Springsteen have in common? Besides being celebrities, they all acted in the same movie! <\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span> The School of Communication and Center for Social Media and the Department of Justice, Law and Society of the School of Public Affairs invite you to a screening of <\/span>THE PEOPLE SPEAK<\/span><\/u><\/span><\/a>.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Using dramatic and musical performances, The People Speak<\/span><\/span> <\/i>brings alive the letters, diaries and speeches of everyday Americans. This documentary feature film<\/span><\/span> gives voice to those who spoke up for social change throughout U.S. history, forging a nation from the bottom up with their insistence on equality and justice. Howard Zinn<\/span><\/span> fondly called them troublemakers, dissenters, radicals, and picketers! <\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, dozens of artists have come together to create a visual testimony to the important history of the United States \u2013 A People\u2019s History of the United States<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>!<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Join us on<\/span> March 1st<\/sup> 2011 at 5:30 PM in Wechsler Theatre at the MGC building.<\/b><\/span> <\/p>\n
