Our winner got 16 correct, while one ballot only got 4 correct. There were some good surprises during the ceremony Sunday night (like Olivia Colman winning her well-deserved best actress statuette), and some not so-great surprises (Green Book winning Best Picture? Really?), overall our entrants were pretty accurate in predicting the outcomes of each category. Here\u2019s a look at AU\u2019s picks to win (the nominees with the majority of your votes), and how we did in each category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Best Picture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: <em>Roma<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Academy Pick: <em>Green Book<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m with Spike Lee on this one\u2014 I was not expecting <em>Green Book <\/em>to walk away with this award. In fact, only 6 of our 82 ballots picked <em>Green Book<\/em>. <em>Roma <\/em>was far and away the favorite, with 39 votes, followed by <em>Black Panther<\/em> with 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Actor in a\nLeading Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: Rami Malek, <em>Bohemian\nRhapsody<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy\u2019s Pick: Rami Malek, <em>Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Actress in a\nLeading Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: Glenn Close, <em>The Wife<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick: Olivia Colman, <em>The Favourite<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve never been happier to be wrong in my life. All the buzz was around Glenn Close, and I picked her for my ballot, but I really, <em>really<\/em> wanted Olivia Colman to win. Her performance as Queen Anne in <em>The Favourite <\/em>blew me away. Overall, Colman only received 15 votes (tied with Yalitza Aparicio) to Glenn Close\u2019s 31. Lady Gaga was the second overall pick with 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Actor in a\nSupporting Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: Mahershala Ali, <em>Green Book<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick: Mahershala Ali, <em>Green Book<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No surprises here, as Ali received more than double the number of votes than our second-place pick Adam Driver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Actress in a\nSupporting Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: Regina King, <em>If\nBeale Street Could Talk<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick: Regina King, <em>If Beale Street Could Talk<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, no surprises, as Regina King was a force to be\nreckoned with in <em>Beale Street<\/em>. Her\ndress was also probably my favorite of the night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Animated\nFeature Film<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: <em>Spider-Man:\nInto the Spider-Verse<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick:<em> Spider-Man:\nInto the Spider-Verse<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This should have been nominated for Best Picture, just\nsaying. 67 of you chose Spider-Man, a whopping 77 % of our total voters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cinematography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: <em>Roma<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick: <em>Roma<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Costume Design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: Ruth Carter, <em>Black\nPanther<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick: Ruth Carter, <em>Black Panther<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See my blog post from a few weeks ago. Jackson\u2019s arms doesn\u2019t\nbring you joy, I don\u2019t know what will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Original Screenplay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AU Pick: <em>Roma <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academy Pick: <em>Green\nBook<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Roma <\/em>just\nnarrowly edged out <em>Green Book <\/em>with AU\nvoters 27-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, how did we do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, AU voters selected 16\/24 of the winners.
