National Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to celebrate. Originally established as National Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 and expanded to a full month in 1989, this celebration runs from September 15th through October 15th every year. This month includes important dates for many Hispanic countries, including celebrations of independence for Costa Rica (9/15), El Salvador (9/15), Guatemala (9/15), Honduras (9/15), Nicaragua (9/15), Mexico (9/16), and Chile (9/18).

AU Media Services invites you to celebrate Hispanic Heritage this month and beyond with our wide collection of Hispanic films available for members of the AU community. If you’re not sure where to start, here are 15 films we have available on DVD, ranging from lighthearted family movies to influential political documentaries.
