Congratulations to Anthony Sandoval ’27 for winning January’s Guess the Theme contest! His correct guess entered him into a random drawing for a free drink token from the Davenport Coffee Lounge. As a reminder, the movies from January’s contest were: Sin City, Persepolis, NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind, Dredd, A History of Violence, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The theme was “movies based on comic books/graphic novels.”
In addition to having all six of these movies available on DVD for members of the American University community, the comic books/graphic novels these movies are based on are a part of AU Library’s Graphic Novel collection! You can browse for them in the Graphic Novel section on the first floor of the library or request them from the links below:
Sin City: The Hard Goodbye by Frank Miller
Persepolis by Marjane Strapi
NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind by Hayao Miyazaki
Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files 01 by Carlos Ezquerra and John Wagner
A History of Violence by John Wagner
Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, Vol. 1 by Bryan Lee O’Malley
If you want a chance to win your own Dav token, make sure to stop by the Guess the Theme poster near the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library and submit your guess for February’s contest. Here are the movies for this month:
Once again, all of these films are available for members of the AU community to check out from the Circulation Desk. The winner of the free drink token will be randomly drawn from the eligible submissions with correct guesses and will be revealed at the end of the month. Check back in here at Media Services News to see if your guess was right and to preview the March movies. Good luck!
