Guess the Theme: A commonality connects these films... can you figure it out?

Guess the Theme – January Results, February Movies

Congratulations to Anthony Sandoval ’27 for winning January’s Guess the Theme contest! His correct guess entered him into a random drawing for a free drink token from the Davenport Coffee Lounge. As a reminder, the movies from January’s contest were: Sin City, Persepolis, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Dredd, A History of Violence, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The theme was “movies based on comic books/graphic novels.”

In addition to having all six of these movies available on DVD for members of the American University community, the comic books/graphic novels these movies are based on are a part of AU Library’s Graphic Novel collection! You can browse for them in the Graphic Novel section on the first floor of the library or request them from the links below:

Sin City: The Hard Goodbye by Frank Miller

Persepolis by Marjane Strapi

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind by Hayao Miyazaki

Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files 01 by Carlos Ezquerra and John Wagner

Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, Vol. 1 by Bryan Lee O’Malley
